What We Consider When Trimming Hedges

Remove No More Than 1/3 of Original Hedge

When taking back control of your hedges, you want to remove no more than 1/3 of the current hedge. Taking more off of it can lead to irreversible damage. Taking up to a third off in the beginning of April to May allows you to go back in September to October and trim it further down. Once you shock the plant with removing a third of it, you have to give it time to heal. Instead of taking the risk of removing a third of your desirable hedges, let us use our expert knowledge and handle this for you!

Rake Off What You Trim

Once we trim hedges, we go back over with a rake to pick up loose debris. Without doing that, the hedges will appear brown and dead as the debris trimmed off earlier was not removed. This dead and brown foilage ruins the look of your prized shrubbery. At All-American Lawn Solutions, we take the time to clean this up so that you don't have headaches later down the road and worry about the health of your plant. If there is enough debris, we can even haul it off for you so that you don't have to stress about where to put it that is out of sight.

Providing Light Underneath the Hedges

When trimming, we round off our hedges. This allows light to reach the bottom of the hedge and provide a full appearance that customers love to see. We take the time to provide the best shape per customer directions so that they can enjoy their shrubbery. Allowing light to the bottom of the shrubs lets your hedges grow to its full potential and stay full all year round rather than barren and empty at the bottom.
